as
so i just bought a jardini yesterday and he hasnt ate anything and he kind of just chills at the bottom of the tank... any ideas to help this little guy come out of the corner.. i also did a 20% water change as i read in some other thread and that worked for the other guy not so much for me... is my jardini lonely? should i buy him some friends and if he decides to eat them at least hes eating? haha anyways any help would nice tia

mine did the same thing, Everything should be fine. if you want to chance tank mates go for it. some Jar's do well with other fish and some don't. You'll just have to give it a try.. Oh yea and i see you're new too so welcome to MFK...

i went and grabed a couple fishes from the pet shop for like a buck each not sure what they are but they arn't feeders cause they sold out of thatl, currently got those 2 and the aro in the tank

he prob wont snap till between 7-12" if he does at all.... but bare in mind that most do, best not to get attached to any tankmates you keep with jars... as for his behavior, its normal for it to take up to a week for a aro to acclimatise and start feeding and acting normally...

He just needs some time to get use to the tank and his surroundings..he is stressing and checking things out and then when he relaxes he will get hungary..

alright not to bad, when do they usually start to eat? i tried feeding it blood worms cause thats what the store was feeding them but hes not eating.. just chilling at the bottom corner haha

how long has he not eaten for now?
try feeding bloodworms, brineshrimp or beefheart they love it, they seem to take a little while to get used to the tank and surroundings

i'll be the bad guy.

how big is your tank?

out of the 5 aros ive own(ed), ive never had one go longer than a couple hour without eating after i placed them in the tank, but i must be lucky considering i hear that they dont eat for days all the time. usually frozen bloodworms, pieces of market shrimp, and pieces of earthworms have worked for me.

thanks for the replies appriciate(sp) it, hes around 3-4 inches, i've been feeding frozen blood worms and i think hes eating a little now, my tank is a 33 gallon and will switch up soon to my 120g so yeah but hes swimming more now and eating a little i just saw him haha all replies are welcomed =D
