I just bought 6 frontosa juvies. There are about an inch big. Currently I am feeding them sinking pellets. They are always hiding though but come out to eat. Any tips on how to make them swim out in the open? Also what is the best way to grow them out fast. I am feeding them twice a day and the water temperature is at 80.

as they grow bigger there confidence will increase, thus they will wonder around the tank more. thats just a guess im no expert.

what kind of fronts did you get? not that it matters jw. bump the temp up to 82, fish grow faster in warm water, what are you feeding?

fronts are shy fish IME. just give them some time to be more comfortable with their surroundings. aggressive tankmates at this stage won't help them feel secure so try to grow them out by themselves or with docile fish.

they are burundi. i am not sure what kind of pellets they are. the person i bought them from gave me a bag full of pellets to start off with. what kind should i buy?

any quality sinking pellet should suffice. chopped up market shrimp is a fav of mine (but yours may have to grow a little)

Are they the only fish in the tank? I agree with all the other posters about them being shy and skittish. I have never known they to be really active fish, but they are very graceful. Omega One Super Color and NLS Thera A are good options for sinking pellets.
