So I did it. Actually moved on to salt water after 15 plus years of fresh. I actually did it twice. first with a 40 gal a few months ago and now this 60. I'm in the process of making a stand for my final system for a few years consisting of 300 gallons of water  I'll keep ya posted on that. For now just a few pictures of what I got going. I recently bought an established nano for some of the rock and corals as the deal was too good to come by, however, a lot of it had a type of hair algae on it. I got most of it off but I still saw plenty in these pictures.

let me know what you think

sorry not all of those came out the best. wish i could have played around with them a bit more but I gotta go.

Yeah looks very nice dude, bu the algae is bringing you down lol

Look into hooking up a GFO reactor. That will help you control your algae issue. Id pull as much of that out as you can, watch your lighting time and the GFO reactor will help pull any phosphates out. Will also help your coral grow...

Could start a sump too. Put some chaeto in it and alternate the lighting. The chaeto will slowly kill the algae in your DT

Yes, using RODI water would help with the algae quite a bit too.
