It'll probably take some time to get it off feeders if it's been eating feeders this whole time. Starving it would probably work. Does it have other tank mates? If it sees other fish going after the food, it'll learn to eat pellets or whatever you're trying to feed it. Shrimp has worked for me 99% of the time.

what shrimp do you use?

I have 3 CK's and feed them cooked shrimp. I was feeding krill but got too expensive. Raw shrimp clouded the tank. It took a week or so but they now eat the shrimp.

when you say market shrimp do you mean from supermarkets and grocery stores?

and if you cook it does it not lose its nutrients?

Congrats. Lets see some pics.

nice save. I got mine onto pellets asap. Usually if you drop in a sinking pellet, they'll go for it when the lights go out. The more they get used to you, the easier it is to get them to eat. I had mine eating from my hand in about 3 months. Some are more shy than others though. Try cooked shrimp shelled and silversides defrosted. Both have had great results with the couple of knifes I have kept.

Yes and yes.

If you leave shrimp in the tank for some time, it will cloud the water. I want to say it'll start clouding the water after an hour. So if it doesn't eat the shrimp within the hour, I'd remove it.

Anything that you cook will loose nutrients. I don't recommend cooking anything for fish consumption, but some people feel that it's not as messy and probably not as "nasty" to deal with. Fish have the enzyme to break down raw foods unlike our stomaches which can't handle certain foods in it's raw stage.
