I just purchased this gar yesterday and added to my 120Gallon. The tank already contains 1 albino clown knife (6"), 1 black ghost knife (7"), 1 fahaka puffur (4").... I also added a p. senegalus (6") but it ended up crawling into my overflow, went right down the tube and met its end in the ball valve...
1 hour after he went into the tank... painful lesson learned regarding securing that over flow... Anyway, the questions I have are regarding general care and feeding... He seems to prefer live food, but I would like to wean him off of it to frozen foods or dry foods. Any recommendations... Also, if I can't wean him, what is the "safest" live food to go w/... I live in fear of infection since the knifefish are in the tank too...
