I have never seen these guys for sale around here before so i am exited. Its around 3 inches and very outgoing, ate food within minutes of being put in the tank and shows no fear of me at all. I have had it for about a week now and am surprised by how little aggression it has shown, from what i read online some can be real monsters but so far this one hasn't tried anything exept take a quick run at one of my clownloaches that kept trying to touch it lol. I have some pictures but they aren't very good because the little guy is fast and doesn't stay still for more then a moment.

Looks like a male to me, but time will tell.
Females have a dark area in the dorsal.
Below is a mature female

Now a male

You may also note that in mature specimens the profile is quite different.
Female is more torpedo shaped, males have a steep profile.

must be a large shipment in i seen them in to LFS in Wales recently with a £10 price difference lol

i got this little feller last week.

Nice looking little guy. Yeah i have never seen them before in vancouver and i keep a pretty solid eye out for new cichlids.
