Sounds like you got a great deal! Don't have much experience with CA cichlids since I recently set up my first CA tank, but I can give some SA suggestions.
I would do a Rotkeil Severum with a group of geophagus orange heads. Add some diamond tetras, a cool pleco, and hatchetfish to that and it would make a pretty cool looking tank

Am leaning towards SA community. For some reason i like bolivian ram over geos. I was thinking about this stocking:
-1 Rotkeil Severum
-4 to 6 Angelfish
-4 to 6 Bolivian Ram
-20 silvertip tetras or colombians.
-10 to 20 Hatchetfish
What you think? Am taking my time on this tank needs to be a show tank its in my living room so i want it to be perfect. by the way i was at a lfs and they had this nice looking severum about 8 to 11in. Here is a pic what type do you guys think he is?
