what are the distinct differences between occell and mono? i look and look at the id pages but i dont see the difference. they all look like the same pbass ive been catching forever. now that i into keeping them i cant tell one from te other...so frustrating grr. I want ot be able to have one of each ...i hope..but at this rate i keep buying the same one becuase i dont know how to tell.

look at a wild mono and look at a wild ocell.
totally different.
only problem is most available are mono/ocell hybrids...creating all this confusion.

where can i get good cichla? ive learned now not to get anymore locally becuase in miami they are all probably fl hybrid. anyone can suggest where ican get a "pure bred" lol cichla? like one thats actual mono and actual occell ect.?

well i finally saw the new cichla eat today, i was geting worried. but in 1 second he took down 3 feeders like a lightning bolt... but hes back in his little corner now, will he ever be outgoing?

They do best in groups. Get a couple more and they will all feel more comfortable and be more outgoing. Some floating plants will go a long way as well.

agreed,but dont worry.
once it sees you as its source of food itll be a lot more outgoing.

ever since i fed him and he ate with me he has been completely more outgoing, even come to the top when he sees me near and is now swimming around like normal. it also doesnt help i think that he was hook caught :irked::thumbsdow

he's also coloring up nicely now that he settled in. yellowish green body, red on the tail ect. :)
