just picked up a 2 inch asien rtc. he will be in my 300g pond for know untill he grows up. hoping to start construction on my 2k tank this summer. i was told thay get about 33 inches how true is this? and how deep would i need to make a pond for my gar?

Asian RTC's are incredibly agressive and he will have to be housed alone for his entire life basically - as nothing is safe with them and what they can't eat they will constantly terrorize. And yes they get around 37" as an adult.

But it is good that he has a large tank to start out in, and will be getting an even larger one.

lol does that mean that once he gets all grown up i can put him and my gar together and have a battle royal lol

who said that Asian RTC is aggressive ? they just eat alot !

yes brich i was just kidding i love my fish thay are my kids along with all my other pets i would do anything for them. if i have something that dosent get along with others i create anther home for it or find anther home for them :). i would really like it if he ends up with the same temper as a standard rtc because he would make an awesome addition to the pond im going to be building. and from some of the pics i have seen of them im kinda gitty to see him grow. lol but im going to be feeding a ghost for the next few months because im youseing my koi pond to grow him out till i can put him in the 125 then the 2k tank. kind of hard to see a black fish in a black pond.

It's a well-known fact that these are an extremely aggressive fish, and that is the reason I don't have one.

"Many claim that H. wyckioides is the most aggressive freshwater fish in the world. Given this fish's ability to bite, it is not even safe with tank mates too large to swallow since it will simply take bites out them."

ok if this thing is going to be retarded mean will a 300 g bassen tub be good for it to live in 6' round 2' deep. i have no prob have a one fish pond but dont want to have to bild a tank retarded in size for one fish and dont take that in a bad way i realy like what thay look like big.

At full size he'd reach halfway accross that tank, it's ok for now and will last him a good while if he's only 2", but you might have to upgrade to a 500g-600g in the future which is the minimum in my opinion.
