So i just got a stand, me and my step-dad built it and my mom stained it.

Here is a picture of it without water or gravel:

I also purchased a air pump, here is a picture of it. What do you guys think about it? I was thinking about putting 2 bubblers on it.

So i got the air pump, need a heater and lid. Anything else you guys know it may need?

I also added stuff called "Prime" to it.

So I'm pretty new to the whole Aquarium game and need some help setting it up.

I bought a 55 gallon tank the other day and it only came with the tank.

Need some ideas of filters, lights and whatever else i would need for it.

I plan on turning into a freshwater tank, and any suggestions on a stock list would be cool too.

Thanks in advance.

Well first you have to give a standard food for your fish on daily basis, Try to clean your tank in a week and remove bad things which is harm to your fish.

Great tank! Multiple airstones would look cool.
But be careful to not turn your tank into a washing machine. You're already getting plenty of aeration with the biowheels, and a big airpump with cheap airstones will create HUGE streams of bubbles that could make your fish feel they're in whitewater. Look into getting an airvalve to bleed off some air if the pump puts out too much air.
There is a huge selection of airstones out there, the finer the bubbles, the better.
Hook up a few airstones that put out really fine bubbles, and bleed off some of the excess air if you have to.

Thanks for the advice guys. I just got some lights and some plants in it now. It is a little cloudy because i did not know i was supposed to wash the rocks off before putting them in there. Oh well.

Think if i had a black background it would look better.

Awesome! Nice work on the airstones. Yeah, a black background would look great, especially with the skull in the foreground.

Nice looking tank!
What I did with my 55/350(x2) combo just like yours was...after the cartridges are dirty, rip the filter floss off of them and dump the carbon in the trash. Take the cartridges and remove as much"'fuzzy" blue stuff as you can. Now go to Lowes and buy this blue air filter media for $5 a sheet( 25"x36"approx.)cut out peices the same size as the filter and place the plastic "frame" back into the filter with this new pad behind it. Fill the space behind the new filter with bio media like ceramic rings or Eheim effisubstrate and now you have tripled your filters bio capacity. I had two filters setup this way and with 40 Africans in that tank I had crystal clear water and perfect parameters. I love those filters!!
