DOnt keep 2 together.

Yes I have one and its a farm raised import, from Switzer reptiles, its an indo and its always had some shed issues that I may be knocking out now with way higher humidity. Sometimes you just get one thats got issues. Other than that though, I would raise these guys for life if I could afford to. By far after all these years I think they are the best to keep.

The biting thing comes from the ones that are just tossed in pet store cages and its sink or swim. They never get held and ppl are scared when it puffs up or opens its mouth, give me a break, dont stick your finger in its mouth and grab the damn thing. Get one already tame or get a young one from a breeder, some are just grumpy, but check this out, you know how a beardy cant really swing to the side and bite you if your holding it, neither can the skinks. No way if your a normal sized human should you not be able to grab a large BTS that is furious without getting bit. They dont have the neck like a monitor. Northerns tend to be the tamest since they are also the most wide bread. I will post a few new pics of mine. Honestly, their a little more fun when they are grumpy, they certainly have little personalities and not just some dome water turtle,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lol VF

THe best website in the world for them is Bluetongueskinks.net so if your interested in one or have one and cant shut up about it just go their. The best care sheet in the world and the best collection of photos youll find, and info.

Here ya go, Ive handle blue tongues countless times even to I dont have any (soon to change;)) and they are some of the more chilled lizards you can expect to have. Such a shame some species are so rare.

yeah thats a great site. i read there rather extensive(in a good way)care sheet. lots of helpful info.

i got an 18 month old CB northern female. shes hissed a couple times and opened her mouth once, but she was freaked out by my damn siblings. shes a total sweet heart other wise and took a nap on my chest.

also i agree. theres a ton of pussies out there, even in good pet stores. theres one around me that the kids wont even clean the algae out in the big catfish and gar tanks cause there scared. also i pick my own reptiles out at my LFS. i dont like the retarded people scaring them.

Here is mine, these are pics from the other day. He just shed that day, 2 sheds before he was having a hard time with the top of his head and with my 15 years of reptile experience I assisted the old skin off of his head just to realize it was too soon, therefor messing his head scales up real bad. Some of these guys just have more trouble than others as far as mouth issues and facial shedding issues. Mine is going to have the humidity upped big time for a month to see if anything changes. A bunch of us on BTS.net are trying to get to the bottom of some of these issues. I can explain more later unless you guys could just go to BTS.net and read the threads. Anyways, heres the pics so I can compare later this month the head healing.
