I feel yah, I was fired once for being to good of a worker the boss said so himself, I was like really?!

Hope Your dream job finds yah.

So glad they cannot decode to fire you a whim here in the UK.
So unlucky but at least you get the chance to find a good job with a decent boss.
Good luck on the rock n roll.

Sorry to hear that man!
I live in Canada, not sure how they run in the states... but here, you just sue them, or they pay you 3 months up to 2 years of your pay with unreasonable dismissal!
During recession, I had a friend that worked at a company for over 10 years, by law, they would have to pay him up to 2 years of what he was making for doing that... but the company was going bankrupt, so wouldn't matter!

But good luck! maybe there's some action you can take?

Sorry to hear, hope you are able to find something better with a better boss.

Wow. That blows. I felt that from here, reading that. So sorry. Sounds like your boss was kindof an a-hole.

I am sorry to hear about your job, and it sounds like your boss was pain, I thought that any time a employee is let go or fired your supervisor had to tell you the reason why you was terminated... I may be wrong but I do not think so.

Nah, you don't have to give a reason. You can say something as bland as lack of work.

Work there long enough to collect unemployment? Might be able to enjoy some time off if that's the case.

Nope! They don't have to tell you the reason why, and it is in the employers best interest to NOT tell a person why they are fired, because if they give the "wrong" reason they are likely to be sued. That is why the lousy reason of "we no longer need your services" is the often used (lame!) answer.

In most states though they are required to tell the state why the employee was fired though, if the (ex) employee files for unemployment. This is the area where a dumb employer will get in trouble because if the reason is open to interpretation as being discriminatory the state has the obligation to disclose it to the (ex) employee! Examples are: skin color, age, gender, sexual preference, race, etc. This is the MAJOR reason that companies that can afford one have a H.R. person. It is NOT for the employees benefit, but it is for the EMPLOYERS benefit! H.R.'s main job is making sure that the employer is compliant with the myriad of local, state, and federal laws, and too keep the employer from getting sued!

An employee also does not have to tell their employer why they are quitting either! Only fair right?:D
