I had moved them to a 55 tanganyikan tank with some young lamp. tetracanthus, not ideal, but I have a tendency to move fish around to try to maximize tank space. Basically, they weren't meant to stay there forever. A pair formed, and I moved those two and put them in a 150 that had some larger (not huge) CA cichlids. I figured they'd have plenty of room to hide and breed in there. Got home from work the next day, and the pair had been murdered.
I still have two marbled convicts left, but they appear to be the same sex. Now I can't find any more in local fish stores. I really don't want to pay shipping for convicts, even marbled ones, so I'll just be patient, and I think eventually I'll find some. I was hoping to find some at the ACA convention, but if someone had them for sale, I must have overlooked them.
Oh, and my male a-hole cutteri recently killed his mate, so for the first time in a while I don't have any breeding "Archocentrus" types, defintely feels like there's a void there.
cool! Any more updates?
