Very interesting. I was basing my opinion off this photo

That "bump" between the eyes leading to the extended upper jaw is not a normal trait for the species, and it appears that both the upper and lower jaws are "different". A broken lower jaw I can understand, but to mess up the upper part of the fishes face like that...who knows.

The avatar is an old breeder female of mine that I picked up at Petsmart at 1", actually.

Awesome!!

Modest, it wasn't a birth defect, it was damage done from fighting. He was the largest of my male haitiensis and got into it with the 2 largest females constantly. I had moved the most of the others after he paired up with the largest female. I had left another female in the tank just in case he would go off on the other, so something happened around then. Once I noticed, I started growing out the next largest male to replace him.

The 2nd largest of my males is now sharing a divided tank with the female and I'm hoping to get them spawning soon. The good male has a very large hump for a 5.5" fish! Once he's settled down from net trauma and the tank move, I'll try to get some updated pics of him.

Should definately post. That little fella has had a nice hump for a while!
