Just got this little guy (L190?)

panaque nigrolineatus max out around 18in from what ive read. Most pics and vids ive seen are of around 16in specimens. Truly magnificent.

other species like the titanic panaque (LDA-65) get 30in+ from what ive read.

looks more like my l-191, could be wrong as i dont see them that small, but the snout and the broken lines say so along with some of the vertical striping in the base of its tail before the fin, if so you hardly see the dull eyes over 10 inches, mine is 5 inches, anybody have any pics of the dull eyed royals over 10 inches let me know, cant seem to find any and curious what a fully grown one looks like, planet catfish has a pic of a 10 incher but would like to know if there are bigger ones out there

wow, that thing is a beast, im sure it was caught in the wild, if you tell me that is grown out in captivity that way i'd be even more amazed ive seen massive L-190's and L-27's, but not L-191's, hope mine gets close to as big, my dad's 191 is about 13 years old is all of 10 inches and has spent its life in 300g

Yes, it was imported at that size by Pier Aquatics, UK. I never heard of anyone even claiming to have grown a Panaque to that sort of size. A Japanese site that I visit had some 20/21" L418 for sale and in the blurb it said 'housed in 900x600' but nothing else.

Monster Pleco!!!!! I have never seen a pleco that huge. That is awsome!

you mean youve never seen a large common pleco?! 19in is nothing compared to some of the pics up here

I thnk the largest I've every seen has been a 16 incher. But I havent really searched around to find any larger. Big Fish!!
