I have a senegal birchir and the time ive had him, it doesnt seem like hes grown one bit! I want to move him to my larger tank that contains 2xLmb 1x oscar, 1x ck and a pleco, im just worried that he wont get any food as the fish in there eat like pigs!!!

ANy suggestions about moving him, and any answers to the growth ques are welcom.
\Thanks Michael...

I keep hearing that Senegals seem to have their own personal growth rate. I had a couple of Albinos. One that grew pretty fast hitting 6" from 3" in 2 months and then i had another one that grew from 3.5" to 5" in a year (it wasn't a SB...already asked). I just got a Long-Finned Senegal. I guess I'll see how this guy grows.

I have a 2" sen for about 4 months and it hasn´t grown at all I´m thinking any day now but I´m more concerned of the 6" ornates eating him

Yeah I got two senegals at around the same size, and now a month+ later, one's grown about an inch and a half, and the other has grown maybe one inch at most.

I got my 2 sens at the same time, ones grown really fast to about 5 inches in just over a month.. the others' still around 3.

To those who are seeing different growth rates: are your polypterus in the same tank? Do you feed them individuall, or just put feeders/pellets/whatnot in there and let them have at it? I'd be concerned that one fish is simply eating the "lion's share" of the food and is therefore experiencing faster growth. In any pair of fish, one will naturally be more dominant than the other... I'd make sure the results you're seeing aren't simply a matter of feeding discrepancy, and not a different in natural growth rates within a species.
