To those who are seeing different growth rates: are your polypterus in the same tank? Do you feed them individuall, or just put feeders/pellets/whatnot in there and let them have at it? I'd be concerned that one fish is simply eating the "lion's share" of the food and is therefore experiencing faster growth. In any pair of fish, one will naturally be more dominant than the other... I'd make sure the results you're seeing aren't simply a matter of feeding discrepancy, and not a different in natural growth rates within a species.

I have all 4 sens in the same tank, i feed all of them at the same time and they all get enough food ( always watch them eat) I guess the smaller one is the just runt of the litter and will do some catching up later.

While there may be plenty of food to be had, it's possible that the smaller fish are being intimidated. It doesn't matter how much food you put in - fish will eat themselves absolutely stupid if they're given the chance. I think that some of you are seeing a growth difference because your smaller, subordinate fish have learned not to bother the bigger fish when it's chow time! :) I don't really have a solution to this, just pointing out that it's a possibility.

Especially for the individual who said he's worried about the larger Ornate eating the smaller senegal - of course the senegal is growing slow, if you've got him in with a larger, more aggressive fish! If I were the senegal, I'd be too worried about watching my butt to ever grab a bite to eat! :)

Also, overfeeding.. careful you're not just overfeeding the greediest fish in an effort to feed the others. Overfeeding is reeeeally bad for fish, both for water quality and internal health.

Bichirs are all going through puberty. XD

he'll bulk up eventually dont overfeed him, he just might be a late bloomer
