I've had this guy for a while now but have never really shown anyone. I'm not trying to get my hopes up by saying this is a C.Nigromaculata but would rather like know what he really is. What are some known characteristics that a C.Nigromaculata have? Sorry for the crappy pics, I can always take more if need be.

Discontinuous lateral line is also seen in all mono, some kelberi and orinos.

what I see from your picture:

1. 1a and 2a vertial line.
2. black spot near dorsal fin.
3. discontinuous lateral line.

It's difficult to say it's NOT a nigro.

Thanks for your opinion. I tried to take pics of some of the indicators that 'True' C.Nigro do have. I do have to agree with you that it is hard to say whether it is or isn't. On a scale of 1 - 10, how much would you rate it being a Nigro?, 1 - being a mono/ocell and 10 - being a Nigro. Thanks again for your opinion.
