The above are some examples of very good CB del and royal tiger del.

These are taken from a japanese breeder sites and my personal collection. Do you consider the below a royal tiger del?

you made your point, I can understand that,
I am not an expert on this one, but base on my understanding, I think there is a different saying among us on what is a royal tiger del should look like,
Also, base on recent discussion with the local breeder here, which I got all my plats from, the royal tiger del is supposed to have a dominant colors of green and dark as their base color, not grey or brown base color.
Although the environment plays role on this, but the green n dark colors are there already, and it is genetics. It is sometimes hard to see the dark on them because of the lights,..
The word tiger it self came from its pattern which mimic the pattern of a tiger, which is a common sense. However, in case of royal tiger delhezy, the one with green n dark color, is the favorite.
The chance of getting a royal tiger delhezy within one period of birth is very small, that one of the parents must be a royal tiger del.
If I may pick from your images that you posted, then to my understanding it would be the first second pic, the third, and the very last pic, those three images show a very dominant green n dark on those dels.
I am not trying to convince you which one is the correct one, you may think otherwise, but I think this is true base on my understanding n my discussion with the breeder.
Other dels may still be called a tiger del because of their pattern, but the royal tiger del is more dominated with the green and dark.

It is true that there are many saying on what is a royal tiger del should look like. Your guess is not really correct as 1,2 3, and 5 are royal tiger del, where as 4,6, and 7 are farm breed del. I owned the last piece and I did not classified it as a royal tiger del as i brought is as a farm breed when it was 2-3 inch only.

Pic 2 and 3 belongs to the same del, but taken from a different angle.

Whatever the case, my own understanding, a good royal tiger del should have very nice pattern and greenish/yellowish green skin base.

It's very hard to find them, where I come from, as importers are reluctant to bring me higher quality del to sell as our market is small due to its higher cost. 1 piece can cost about 19800 yen from a 4-5 inch specimen.

We are all here to learn, maybe we can get more inputs from more experience bichir keepers here. :)
