im not worried about them outgrowing.. ive got more than enough room for them just making sure i know what to get for them =) thanks for all the advice guys OH i also need to know if i put one of them in my african cichlid tank, will the salt hurt him?
Kevin, we don't use salt for African biotope tanks. What salt did you use? In the African cichlids' case, we are talking about mineral salts which are entirely different from aquarium salt. Aquarium salt does nothing at all and will prove detrimental to fish's health over time.

im using top fin "conditioning salt" witch is what the aquarium depot advised me to use.. are yous aying i shouldnt be using this?

You shouldn't. It's all marketing ploy.

I have a pleco with my african cichlids. as long as ph is stable, plenty of green food around, pleco should be fine. they're pretty tough guys.

You said it's ugly; does it have these barbels all over it's face?

yeah man it looks like a frog. i mean i have a sailfin in my 100 and its pretty, but these guys are just gnarly lookin
