So about your DW, what's up w/ the no love for Wayne & Beth @ RockArtSource on eBay or am I wrong. I've spent way to much time staring at that blk sand & S. TX bckgrnd to EVER mistake it. I would figure after scoring some BA driftwood like that, you would at least share w/ everyone as to where "like" could be found, yes for a price, but still. Oh, sorry did I just let the secrete out :D LOL. It would be great if we got everything for free or at least bare min., but sometimes when you have a need & have to shell out a couple buck's it's good to know where to go for the best & its good to share. ;) Can't wait to see your set up, sound's/look's good so far :) :) :)

Don't get me wrong I love the wood, but this is the first piece of driftwood I had bought and I was a bit surprised by the price. But I am a very satisfied customer. Also you were correct, the wood is from RockArtSource on eBay. They seem to have some really nice ones for auction and in the store. Hope this helps others find some awesome ones for their tank!

Just so you know, I absolutely did not mean to step on your post in anyway. So please forgive me if I came off wrong, it wasn't my intention to do so in anyway & will consider more strongly the way I try to help w/ info in the future. Totally my bad. Really can't wait to see your tank all set up, should be great! :) :) :)

Thanks for the suggestions. What kind of black sand are you using freeskierrocket? I have found Estes and the Tahitian Moon Sand. But I have never done a tank in sand, only gravel, and seeing as this is going to be my biggest tank and in the living room I am anxious about cleaning it.

Also about it getting into the XP3s. I heard put the intakes atleast 4" above the sand. How has your guys' experience gone with this. I'm on a tight budget and losing one of these filters to the sand will really be a drag.

Thanks. I have to check out that background and wood. I like the darker looking JD's and EBJD's. Let me know about any other suggestions. If you can't tell they are greatly appreciated.

I am actually not using sand but am using black gravel, the small size and have no problems to report................i'll have to admit that i have natural small size gravel in a couple of my tanks , but black in the others.........It just brings out the fishs colors!!!!:headbang2 :)

Little Update....

-Just put 7, 25lb bags of gravel in the tank.
-Put black background on using some sticky stuff from the lfs, which took about 45 minutes to get all the bubbles out(still not out completely)
-Hooked up one of the XP3's(broke the other one, waiting for replacement part)
-Seeded the filter with already been used filter floss.
-Filled up the tank, and turned it on.

Next:
-Get surge protector
-Set up heaters
-Set up/fix other XP3
-Add the soaking driftwood
-Get some cool silk plants
-Make some sort of awesome creation for center of the tank

Too tired to post pics right now, will do later.

After doing a quick W.C on the 220. i went over to help Ecal468 set up his tank. some quick action shots. looks great man! i was thinking we could just fill it with a betta?:headbang2
