He's still a little fry. Lfs was selling them and I was looking to add him to my 120 gallon. In my 120 I have 3 tinfoil barbs, 3 diamond scale barbs, 1 jaguar, 1 jack Dempsey, 1 datnoid and 1 midas/red texas hybrid. All the fish are still small but growing. Right now the jd and hybrid are the Kings of the tank. But the jag is getting there. I use dithers to channel the aggression away, hence the barbs. The dovii/wolf I have in a breeder net in my 30 gallon community tank until he is big enough. Anything I should know about the dovii/wolf? I know they can get huge. But I have a 240 gallon that I can throw him into after he out grows my 120.

I'll post a pic soon. He's tiny.

Here is pics that I took. Feed him last night 1mm nls pellets. He actually ate them which was a good sign for his first day.

Looks good, nice and fat... are u growing all those fish out in your 120 and adding them into the 240 as they hit a certain size, or what's the plan there? Because I'd say your 120 is overstocked as it is right now, can u divide some of them up and put a few in the 240? With that stock, once some of those fish hit the 5-6" range (if they haven't already), I think that JDs days will be numbered, especially in a 120. What's the size of all your fish?

its not overstocked right now. They are all only 1'-2'. They're all still small. I do plan on getting rid of my 3 of my tinfoil when they get a little bigger. None of the fish are 4-6" right now. I do plan on downsizing when they get a bigger or a couple of them over to my 240. I'm thinking about getting rid of my Oscars. Boy those sucks are freaking pigs. I have 2 right now from 6-7". I have to trick them everytime feeding my other fish. Thanks for the input

Give it time, maybe another 4-5 months or so at most... I watched too many YouTube videos when I stocked my 125 the 1st time and thought since a handful of people could do it that I could to. Nope, bad idea... once my male jag, male Midas, male festae, and female salvini were all over 4-5", everything started going downhill. Now I have 1 9" male jag in my 125 and plan on keeping it that way. Less stressful for me and the fish... may try finding a female to breed but am now rethinking that as well. The "wet pet" route is definitely the way to go with the larger central/south american cichlids IMO. Just make sure u got a backup plan... good luck

As of right now it's all good. If something doesn't work out I'll rehome them which I hate to do. It's all luck of the draw. Some fish get along even when growing up. Some don't. Most of the cases they don't. Hopefully, I'll be the lucky one. But thanks for the input Jt. Learning something new everyday.
