What should I do with it?? I was intending on using it for a sump for my acrylic 180g that I'm supposed to be starting to polish this coming week. The 75 also has a nice stand that goes with it. I intended on just sliding it under my 180, but now that it's here I'm looking at it and wondering if I should get rid of my little 30g planted community tank and make the 75 my new community tank. Or should I go ahead with the original plan of making it a sump/ refugium??

I think the tanks dimensions are 4 foot long, 26 inches tall, and 15.5 inches wide. So, I'm pretty sure that makes it a "show" tank. But it could also make a really good sump. Not sure now... decisions decisions......

what do what do??

Move the planted tank to the 75 and get some nice angels with a nice school of some kind of tetra.

All my fish in the 30 are pretty small... 3 celestial danio's, 2 dario dario's, 2 Siamese Algae eaters, 3 Stiphodon Goby, 4 Yellow Endlers (my wife's), 1 rubber lipped pleco, ~10 red cherry shrimp, and 1 freshwater clam. I kept'em small so I could get more fish. :D Been thinking about some dwarf gourami's...not sure though.

I really like the idea of using the 75 as my community tank. I see a 55g on Craigslist for $45 right now, do you think a 55 would be big enough for a sump for the 180g?? Not sure if that's big enough.. maybe just use the 55 as bio filter and get a canister on the side? I can see that working pretty well... I was originally thinking I'd just have the inlet to the sump pouring into a 50 micron filter sock...or something along those lines.

I ran a 75 gallon as my sump for my 220. To be honest the 75 was quiet larger than I really needed. I never filled it up with bio media because I did not need to. I think the question you need ask your self is. How many fish are you going to have in the tank? Who big are going to be? And are you going going to be able to fit enough bio and or mechanical in the 55?

I would like to have a few peacock bass and a few clown loaches.... that's pretty much all I know that I would like to have. Or should I say, those are the two fish that I like the most out of the fish that I've seen. Because the 180 still has a long way to go before its ready for fish, I haven't even really looked at how many or what size of those types of fish I could put in a 180. Don't know if it's apparent, but this is my first larger tank. So far I've been reading all I can on MFK and AC practicing with my 30g as much as possible and trying to absorb all this information.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and set up the 75 as my new community tank and see about a ~50g for a sump. That should be plenty big enough. I really prefer to have a planted tank, so that should help with some of the bio load anyway. I'll put a canister for mechanical filtration and a ~50 for bio balls/ media and in all honesty I can't see needing more than that.... Unless as you say, I overstock the tank and get alot of big, messy fish.
