Update?
on the goby in particular

Now that my computer is up an running again I should post some updates.

Marbled Goby is pushing 8" now. I plan on changing up the 55g he's in quite a bit. I have two Hujeta Gar in my 29g until they get big enough to go into the 80. Then that tank will be used to breed feeders.

While on vacation the light timers stopped working on the tank and I had a bunch of plants die on me. Put in some vals and onions and they're doing good. Senegal Bichir is now in the 80g with the two needle nose, two pictus, peacock eel, flagtail catfish, and rainbow shark.

I also just picked up a little channel catfish. Looking forward to those fish tacos! :banhim: :j/k:

Once he reaches 10 or 12" I'll take him to my inlaw's pond at their ranch. I'll try to get some pictures here soon.

I laughed at the warning sign.

BTW leave out the Fluval prefilter, its practically useless since you already have a prefilter (foam pad) in your canister.
I would go with fluval bio-max or seachem matrix

True. I picked up some bio-max shortly after setting everything up. The prefilter came with the tank.

I'm looking forward to getting my Hujetas into the 80g. Until then, all my plans for my two smaller tanks are on hold. Going to move a piece of driftwood with some nice Java Fern growth from the 29g to the 55g. I found some nice slabs of fossilized oyster beds in the desert that will go into the 55g with the Marbled Goby. Grow little fishes, grow!
