Short of ordering them online, i've never seen them for sale in a fish market. Although perhaps in places like lake erie they do. Not in most of the county though.

beast of a perch! finally something good about living in northwest ohio.... in toledo, perch and walleye are at all the fish markets i think around $11.99/lb. A lot of the seafood resturants have lake erie perch on the menu too, im partial to bluegill though.... but i dont turn down a mess of perch

At 11.99 a lb, I'm glad I can catch my own lol. A nice limit walleye(5) of 3-4 lb walleye would probably cost $100 once filleted out.

Guess what guys,a market just mere minutes from me actually have live perch.I don't know if there is a similar species that looks like yellow perch as these do so for now I'm guessing these are yellows..They are only labeled as perch and they are 8.99 a pound but very few of them are over eight inches

The average yellow perch is between 6 and 10 inches so it is quite possible. There are no species that look similar in the US. They sound a little on the small side though. I throw back anything under 10" since there isn't much meat on them at that size.

I was tinking that they were rather small.I wonder if they were caught somewhere or farmed?....The place also has live crappies that are bigger.
