great new fish... just awesome..what you should do before you put them in your large tank is set aside a smaller tank with water from the mother tank and quarenteen these guys for two weeks..then if they need treatment you can treat right in that tank...and also you would protect the fish you already have.

and the fishkeepers too.. too hard to do the whole tank.. and expensive.. so a nice little quarenteen tank does the trick. :D

Amen to that:nilly:
Not to mention risky

yes RISKY is the #1 reason!! Been there.. and it is not pretty!

Yeah, I'm not a fan of treating the whole tank. Haven't done that since I was a kid more than 20 years ago.

As for the fish since the injury, he's holding his own. Found himself a nice spot to defend, albeit it's not a great spot. I think he is just hanging in till his eye heals.

And the Quarantine tank is currently housing to fem "ZO's" that are holding babies. Otherwise he would be in there. I just don't have anywhere to put him so he's going to be stuck in the tank.

Gonna continue to feed them well and try to get in a water change tonight. BiL's birthday tonight that I have to attend which sucks. Going straight after work. Hopefully I can sneak out early and get it done.

I'll try to get a pic of him in the tank and not just in the bag....

The peacock is actually Aulonocara Jacobfreibergi Otter Point or a Eureka Red. He is very nice and makes an awesome add to your tank. Good luck with your new cichlids.

I agree that it is not a Sunshine. I got some pics tonight. Lemme do some editing to get them small enough to post and I will post some pics
