Just purchased 6 Festaes

I just got 6 true red terrors from a buddy of mine at 1.5 to 2.5 inches to grow out in my 55...yeah so my question is, how long will it be until I will have to get them in my 150 and would should I start seeing color? Thanks guys and keep raising them monsters!

They're pretty slow growers, you're hoping to get a pair I'm assuming? I think a 150 would be on the low end of keeping a pair happy and healthy for life.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah eventually when I get out of this upstairs apartment with a 125 and 150 and 110, I'll probably go big with a 300 or so

Do you know approximately when I should start seeing color, like what size, I do water changes every other day religiously? Is that good or bad?

You have to wait until they reach 4"+ then u will start seeing there colours
Partial small WC is good but be careful about sudden changes will fluctuate temperature and this causes stress

I've done 80% water changes on 2" sized F1 festae with no issues as long as the temperature drop or increase was no more than a few degrees. My female would go into breeding mode whenever the temperature went from 73F to 69F.

I believe it depends on the individual specimen to some degree in regards to color. I have two wild caught from Rapps that are already very colorful, they're about 2 inches long

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm just hoping I get a female out of the deal, couldn't pass these babies up at 6 a piece... I picked this other thing up also when u purchased 3 for 20 dovii.... Yeah whoever it was decided to give me 2 doviis and whatever this thing is, any clues
