Cool thanks... Not sure what I'm going to do with it though, wasn't expecting to get something I wasn't wanting... Lol SMH He is doing really well holding his own to be in a 150 with breeding flowerhorns 2 dovii and a jaguar
Yeah I'm going to wit for the chaos first then I have this empty 110 I can put my flowerhorns in... I just got rid of my last 2 dovii I had for a year and I miss them, so I had to get me a couple more to grow out
Even just a single pair of adult Dovii need 150 Gallons or more. Everything else in the tank would end up dead maybe even the female. They would probably do best in a 300-500 Gallon tank realistically but nobody really does that.
They are super slow growers. I just rejoined a pair I purchased at 1inch. They grew to just under 5 inches in a year. Mine turned out to be low quality or hybrids. Post up some better pics of yours. Good luck.
They are slow growers to an exctent. Do lots of water changes, keep water pristine, feed high protein food and you will still see a good growth rate. My male went from 4" to a 1.5" thick , 10" beast in about 11 months. I find that they grow slower from fry to around 4-5" then hit a growth spurt. Be careful though. A pair will most likely form and once formed and dominant they will kill the rest
Hey thanks guys, someone on here said that they're not true red terrors and I've been had? Lol I got them from my guy in Milwaukee who breeds these with parents on deck, so no they're just small and not showing color yet...

I'd be curious to hear that person's rationale. I zoomed in the pics and looked at each fish as closely as I could. I don't see anything that suggests they're not true festae.
