So excited! I have to start using 50/50 RO water to make it softer before I can bring her home, i have done a fair amount of research but if you have any tips or advice I would appreciate it :)

How hard is your water? Rays aren't that picky about hardness or pH for that matter just consistency. I kept and bred rays for 3 years in pH 7.6 and dKH of 9.

Forget the ro water, it's not needed for a ray, im in Utah we have hard water, consistently the same water conditions in the tank is best rather then changing and.fighting what the water already is. as long as you have the Bio filtration available and mechanical and do lots of water changes and feed your ray lots of good food you will do great. You can pm me if you have any questions. What size are you getting your ray at? Find out what food its eating now, also make sure you see it eat at the store, ask for it to be fed. Plan to upgrade your tank, what size tank you putting it in? Search local places for the cheapest market shrimp to buy.

The guy at the store said it would die after a couple of days without RO mixed water? Is that because its in soft water ATM? Yea I have seen it eat before and it looks very healthy so should be ok there, its about a 4-5inch disc so just a baby and it is going in a 100g for about 5-6 months until my 750 is done but if that's delayed I will buy a bigger used tank to keep it going until its done, I have 2 large canister filters that push out 500gph each, I feed hikari, fresh and frozen foods and do 50-70% PWC every week and test the water every 3 days or if there is a problem I check, its always amo-0.0 rites-0.0 and nitrates 20 or less ph is 7.2 and I don't have a general hardness test... Is it time to get 1?

Definately approve of what's already been said, just remember to have a varied diet (but get her to accept pellets asap). Oh yeah, congrats aswell. I still remember how excited I was when I got my first ray.

Thanks :)

Do you all think if I drip acclimatise her she should be ok in normal water?

Using a drip system is probably the best way. I still use it when doing partial water changes. It might also help to find out is stingray-safe meds are available in your area
