She looks good. What kind of sand is that? I would pick up some trout worms from Walmart chop them into bits and feed her those. Then chopped tilapia and shrimp soaked in worm juice.

Thanks :) I am very happy with her. it's pool filter sand, is that ok for rays? I dunno what trout worms are? I'm in the uk but I have very small frozen fish that I can chop up and market shrimp.

.Very nice female congrads! Just to give you a tip for food, I buy the mixed bag of frozen sea food from Walmart for 6 bucks, and my pair loves it, I go through 2 bags a month. I was spending 80 on live black worms. I also go through two containers of Canadian Night Crawlers a week at 2.97 a container. They love them and once again its not expensive. When feeding night crawlers I squeeze all the **** out of the bottom portion of the worm as the pet store owner, showed me and rinse them in luke warm water. I see you live in England, so I dont know if these are options for you, but I hope it helps. Oh yea, water changes, water changes, water changes. I wouldnt make it without my python!

I think trout worms are also called red worms if I remember right. I recently got a motoro as well and he goes nuts for nightcrawlers but also takes silversides fairly well, not a big fan of shrimp yet though.

Ok thanks, I will keep an eye out for the seafood mix and pick up some night crawlers :) not sure if I can get the trout/redworm here but I will look and she just ate some chopped up smelt this morning :) I will try shrimp later or tomorrow l. I plan to double my PWC schedule so I will be changing 100% a week by doing 2 50% changes, is that enough?

Seems normal. Behind the eyes and at the base of the tail is where they store their fat deposits. If you can see an indent between the eyes or the pelvic bones at either side of the tail, it could do with abit more food. Commonly seen on rays in lfs.

I know what you mean. While I get kfc and bk, my fish get hikari and nls. I even share some of the fish/squid I catch with them... i really need to get my priorities in order lol

That was fast. Seems like you've got a very adaptable ray. Funnily enough, all the female rays I've owned (all motoros) were extremely picky eaters at first. Took me at least 2 weeks to get them onto pellets. You're obviously doing something right
