Just Received my First GATF!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its still real hard to get him to not spaz out when I try and take a pic. Ill try and get some better ones up this week. Hes so small I was asking the same thing but the site vendor reassured me he had both vit and goliath side by side and the difference was clear and this is the latter

Cool. Can you describe his behavior?
Very active?
Not real active?
Chows down the sec feeders hit the water?
Etc...

sure thing. he is very skittish still as I said.
I have not been able to catch him eat yet but hes consuming at least one 1.5-2" rosy red per 12 hours.
His belly is smaller when I go to bed and bulging every morning when I wake up before I go to work, and when I get home nearly every day it looks like he has managed to consume another.

I keep the tank stocked with at least 4 rosy reds all the time so hes not as stressed and is able to eat when he wants to

The first few days I would find a little tail chunk or a piece of a rosy head laying on the substrate but he seems to be getting more efficient at not leaving pieces behind lol.

I have a 750 gph koralla powerhead in the small 40g tank it is in right now so hes basically working out 24/7 swimming into the current.
Still not very active in terms of movement around the tank (except when freaking out) but he likes to swim about 18-24inches head on from where the powerhead is blowing. Just constantly swimming hard into the current its pretty impressive.

I really hope he calms down a bit so I can move him into the 90g growout tank I have had set up and waiting for him. I am also assuming the move to the larger tank will reduce the jumpy beahvior.

Thanks
Reed
