Having only dealt with smaller fish (2-5" long), I consider this 10" Oscar I rescued from being lake dumped a MONSTER! Dwarfs my green sunfish and bluegill! Even the 7" Blue? JD that came with it is pretty impressive! I believe the Oscar is a female, a little beat up, she was in a 29g along with the JD and they had big rock in there on top of that! Now she is swimming around and stretching her fins in the 60g. The JD is pretty good looking, I will try and get some pictures of both of them up here and see if you guys can help verify sexes for me! For-warning, I have a really crappy old camera so I had to use flash or the pictures are so blurry that you cant see a dog-gone thing!

The 60g should be good for just the O by himself. As far as sexing them the JD shouldn't be any problem sexing. Oscar however cannot be sexed visually as male and female have no differentiations between their outer appearance and the only way to really verify O sex is if they lay eggs.

Good for you, I always like to hear about rescued pets, especially ones that were basically doomed and could be bad for the environment

Pics, sorry for the low quality, our camera is like 6 yrs old and was a cheaper one then even...

And yes, you will notice that I washed the front of the tank about 1/2 way through lol! :wall:

where did you say you found these? they look healthy and the JD is very nice and chunky.

Jon M is right that's a male JD

Oscar looks good! apart from the small cuts! i guess the 60 is better than what they were in but a future upgrade would be better ;)
