I see a mistake from many first time re-sealers. All the videos I have seen don't touch on this subject.
Here is a quick picture I made.

If you cut into the silicone between the two pieces of glass when removing then you should remove the panel and then redo that whole section.
Silicone does not stick well to old silicone so if water is leaking then just resealing on top of the "bad cut" is just waiting for a leak to happen.
This is the reason why factory tank seals last 15-20 years and improperly resealed tanks only last a couple years before they spring a leak. Cutting silicone horizontally in the same fashion as you cut vertically is a huge over looked mistake. If you did do this and your tank is leaking take that whole panel off and redo it.
