sorry im new to this...the only affordble LEGAL arrowanas are the silver right?im looking on youtube and see the most beutiful fish ive ever seen but there all asians and cost a fin and a gill, and frankly the silver ones dont really blow my whistle.any colorful species i can get legally and that wont bankrupt me?

Get a black , your in the US , there nice for a good 2 months before they look like a silver :D

Jardini and Leis sorta look asian , but if you have been looking at Xbacks etc , no ozzy aros will cut it :(

i "think" the silver is the only one you can get in fl

Sorry thought you could get all aros exp asians in the states.
Diden't know they had diff rulzs for diff states but I guess they do for other fish.

well that kinda sux .i was planning on setting up a 180g or so low waterlevel environment with bromeliads and other airplants on the upper portion and aquatic plants on the bottom portion.would that work for a silver aro?of course i know i have to provide good water quality and such as well.kind of like this

Restricted species are not the same as Banned species. You can have certain types of restricted species. For example in Florida all boney tongued fish are illegal, However you can have and sell Silver Arowanas in florida. Just because they are restricted in your state dosen't mean you can't have certain types of the species.

one species that is restricted in Florida is Boney Tongued Fish. That is a species of Fish not a single type of fish. One type of BTF are the Arowanas. The only Arowana you are allowed to have in Florida Without a Permit is the silver Arowana
