Outstanding pictures, I love the close-ups. What type of camera/equipment are you using?
 
I do the best with what i can afford.. its not much, its a regular point and shoot. the Sony Dsc-S780.. macro on, i use a different over head light with no flash.. Hes a good subject to shoot, he gets extremely mad when you get close to his tank for more then 30 seconds, so he comes right up to the glass to check you out.. which is when you can get those close ups..
 
How rare are those? what other piranhas do you have?

They only come from the Rio Sao Fransisco river and its leading tributaries. the same stretch of water from that the Piraya comes from. As for availability
mine is the only one i have ever seen in person and the only one ive seen this big or this gold.. I would suspect something like this to go for 300 to 400+ if you could find someone willing to sell.. I have owned elongatus, 10"+ Rhom, Ternetzi, Irritans,wimple and some others that slip my mind at the moment..
