thanks. i looked at all of them for a while and it seemed to have the nicest barbels and the best temperment (was with the most tankmates and didn't really even look at the other fish in the tank). i obviously passed on the ones that were by themselves, haha.
yesterday, i started seeing a blue outline on the rear fins (?). you can see some red spots now and the scales look pretty golden. seems to be settling in (getting some colors and doesn't hide behind the filter when it sees me) and like it should turn out to be a nice one. wish i could take some better pics. i'll try to get some good ones once it grows up a little and it's caudal fin repairs itself. still spits out pellets, but i'm going to keep trying. picked up some hikari frozen bloodworms and gobbled them up like the FD krill.
I went into Golden yesterday, had a hard time not buying one of those little jars. They all, but one, looked real good. The owner was a little busy so I didn't have a chance to ask her about the "yellow crossback aro". I'm sure you grabbed the best of them so I know you got a nice one.
