Hay, I wanted to take a little time and thank everyone on there ideas for my 125, meen nasty fishtank.
I have went from jags to dovii to warmouths back to jags, well,i finly got what i got...:)
I was going to go get the Golden jag from the LFS in town for $40 and give him my 5 goldies, but on my way i stoped off at petco to talk to my buddies and well, there behold was a tank full of these little bitty jags about 3/4s to 1". After talking a min. i went to my car and got my goldies and traded him for a 4 of them.
I am hopeing for a male , mabey a male/female pair would be nice.
Anyway,i just wanted to say thanks for the help. After they get used to the tank and im able to do a water change ill pop a few pics.
I do hope they workout.
Also,on another note, in my 55 i have a small Red Devil, today i noticed there is these little tiny tiny, i meen tiny like a pin point things on the glass? They look to be white and as for as i can tell there like worms. Now i have had these little worms floting around my tanks and my filters for a while now but these guys or differnt.Any idea what these things are and how do i get ride of them? or are they bad? thanks

Man that is tough! I would have sprung for the golden though. Those are some fine looking fish!

realy, hmm,The golden jag was about 10" and to tell you the truth,it didn't look all that nice. Infact it looked alot like a female dovii to me.
How long should it be before i sould start having truble with these 4 in one tank?
Do they grow about like an oscar? the one i had grow about 1" a month till it hit about 8" then slow down a lot.

It depends...it is safe to say that they will grow at about the same rate as an oscar... about 1" per month or so. And that is odd that it wasnt that attractive. The ones I have seen are drop dead geourgos (sp?).

Chad

this looked just like a female dovii. There was little to no color other then the black line down the side and thats it. I like the pattern a jag has but this had NO other markings..

I was told these worms come from the shrimp we feed them...Maybe it is just from excess waste and food on the gravel...As for me, the "white worms" appeared a week after I started feeding prawns to my p's....I've seen these things come and go over many years(in many tanks)...I have even seen some take the form of miniature anenomes!

As for getting rid of them, I'd suggest water changes....Scrub the hell out of the inside windows and do a 50% water change two, maybe 3 times a week for a month....Cut down on live foods, and see if it stops(or at least reduces)....

ok will do, just to let you all know,i do take care of my fish. Its a little upsetting to think this could be from me not doing my job for my fish as good as i should be. I do 50%water changes EVERY week in all my tanks, even the 125. Thats about how much water i remove from vacing the rocks/sand. There has been times i droped the 125 down about 3/4s way.
I did a water change/cleaning on monday,i will do this then, monday/weds/friday after the gym :D .
The 125 now has 4 VERY small jags in it so i should be able to go a few weeks in it with no problems i guess,so that will free up time for my RD in the 55. thanks
Oh,and i feed the RD pellets, about 5-10 med. sized a day. I seen hem eat them then spit it back out so this might be the problem.:screwy: Not sure, he is still alive so im guessing he is eating something.

also,its a 55 gal with 1 3"rd and a 3"choc. plec
has a Eheim Ecco 2236 and a EMP400. Had a AC500 on it too but when i was cleaning it a few weeks ago,i broke the case. Im thinking whats on it is fine for the 2 fish in the tank. Ill add another EMP400 probley when i up-grade them to a 75 i guess.
My 125 is an oceanic with 2 Penguin350s and a cascade1500. Should be ok for a jag or 2 and a plac(if the jags take to him) ya think? thanks again

My personal filtration rule is:
If the tank is 125 or bigger, put a wet/dry filter....(rhymes too)....

Because I'm in the middle of filter reconfiguration, my 180 p-tank only has 2 AC110 's on it right now....Water parameters and clarity have been awsome for a month and a half, but I still need a great biological filtration...SO I bought a great wet/dry system and it should be up by next week....In fact, I'm thinking of putting in two w/d systems in by next month....

hmm, now that i never messed with. Wouldn't even know were to start
