Just turned the air pumps off and all my fish sceem to be more active  .

Is this normal ?

I don't use air pumps (bubblers?) in any of my tanks unless it's with fish that like to play in the bubbles. They may just be reacting to a difference in noise and movement in the tank. As long as you've got sufficient water movement in your tank they're probably just enjoying the quiet.

Thanks for the feedback , i have put them back on as like you have said it might just be coincidence as when i put them back on about 1 hour later they were the same i think i just shocked them when i took them off .

I don't use air pumps anymore, and wouldn't do so unless the tank needs extra aeration

I have them on now but i really not sure if i should have them on or off , as i have always had them in my tanks .

Should i or Shouldnt i ?

On tanks that are overstocked (like most of mine), if I feel I need more aeration, I'd just add a powerhead

i do have the FX5 outlet facing upwards to move the sufrace around and the spraybar on my Tetratec1200's on the surface too . I think i will take them airpumps out for a week or so i see if anything changes and if nothing goes bad ill keep them out .

You don't need if your return valves are moving the surface as you say. You're just wasting electricity.
