Agreed - Nothing while the tank cycles, you want dissolved protiens to fuel the inital nitrogen cycle. However your flow rate is still off, like I said get 2 hydor circulation pumps each rated for 100 gal per hr saltwater. Attach them to the sides of the tank facing each other and the rockwork. I would upgrade the HOB to a HOB skimmer but that's just me, not really needed for fish only. If you stick with the HOB, after the cycling add Purgien or Chem-pure Elite for chemical filtration so as the HOB isn't just an oversized Powerhead with the wrong type of impeller construction for saltwater.

agree with this, a couple of small power heads and hob skimmer plus live rock and your filtration is complete, the skimmer will help keep your will water clear

Ok I was a little delayed in starting the cycle but I started the shrimp cycle Saturday. My only question I didn't asks before is do I leave the shrimp in for the whole cycle?

I always take the shrimp out when i see the nitrate start to rise. That way you know that the bacteria are seeded in the rock. I always add the cuc right away to keep an ammonia source in the tank

Yeah it does. Luckily I put it in pantyhose before I put it in and can't see what it fully looks like
