Not all bulkhead gaskets are made of rubber. If you have rubber gaskets, then you probally have a sch. 80 bulkhead, which is gray in color. Most sch. 40 bulkheads have a gasket which is made of some kind of soft plastic, which will most likely leak unless you run a bead of silicone between it and the tank.

8:00PM today... i started to fill the tank with water... 2nd picture was after almost 45 mins. (that's a lot of water... maybe 9 days of garden sprikler)
have no problem but i stopped it for the night. want to have full observation for at least 8 hours in the morning.
just playing safe.
here are some pics from time to time.... just have one problem... the noise... i will be istalling an 8 inch pipe on the drain to make the drain reduce the noise. but all went well on my 1st wet run day.

but all went well on my 1st wet run day.where do you get plans for that type of filtration setup, im fairly new to the advanced aquarium biz and i want the best for my fish and am currently running bio-wheel top fillters(marineland)
i just read a lot from fellow MFK members.. get their inputs and look at running set up in well established fish stores.. and i decided to make something unique. not really a great one. some of our fellow MFK members have much better set-ups.
just a word of advise... before you buy anything or before you start doing anything plan it first. i have a fickle mind and finally i got it where i want it to be. one more thing... the least amount of travel on the water the better.with regards to your marineland bio-wheel i would say bio-wheels are great. I have an eclipse 3 and it has been running almost 5 yrs in a row on biowheel. i like biowheel personally. i usually overkill on filter to make the water quality better than normal. what's your set up?
i have tested my mag drive 18 and it has a pinhole leak. called marinedepot and they told me this has been a problem with mag drive. i would need to call the manufacturer. bummer!
