Hey guys again. i was just wondering if you could use an aquarium filter in place for a turtle filter??? anyone tried this???

Yes. What turt you keeping?

There is no real difference between the filters. Use a good quality Eheim canister filter, and you should be fine.

would an HOB work?

Yes, but with the amount of waste most turtles pump out, canisters are usually best.

yep well im not planning on getting a turt just yet, maybe next year, but i dont have the spare cash to get a canister. maybe CL

cant wait to get my corn snake :D

o cool!! that helps me out a ton!!!! thanks guys!!!!!!!!!

Keep in mind a HOB is going to make the waterfall sound due to the lower water level. Unless you have a raised basking platform or something. Or if its a fully aquatic turtle...then ya.
BUt like what others said...there is no difference. Except maybe the color or packaging.

ok thats cool. thanks and also what type of lighting do turtles need. ive heard that they need UVA/UVB lights but what do i know..... and how much would this stuff cost.
