just wondering pacu & oscar & pirhana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ok i was just wondering but i already have a 14 inch RB pacu with 4 albino oscars ( 7-10 inch) soon to get a 12 inch tiger oscar i have i small 3 inch leperandus and 2 spotted catfish both small 2 fully grown cascadura 4 baby pleco ( common soon to get rid of 2/3 of them) 3 misc. small 4 inch cichlids

really just a BIG EXPERIMENT in a 400 gal

I house 2 (16") Red Belly Pacu and 5 (6" - 7") Red Belly Piranha in a 140 gallon tank. I keep the Piranha well fed and the Pacu well fed as well. As was mentioned earlier, my Pacu are crazy and chase the Piranha.

As for your set-up i believe the tank will be a big, beautiful display. A few other things to keep in mind, will all your fish be introduced as juveniles. Whats the quantity of fish you'll be adding? Have plenty of hiding spots for each fish and i believe the will live peacefully. Also stay away from live feeders. You don't want the fish to learn they have to hunt for their food...

however your tank is overstocked i would reccomend a upgrade ASAP

my tank though it is big is a big cylindrical shape A.K.A a water tank but things are going good thus far my pacu is very peaceful never seen him fight but my previous post is my current tank i was thinking ( playing with the idea) of introducing 1-2 pirhana looking for advice

Yes tomorrow Im picking up another 180 gallon for the 2 pacu, I took them off someones hands who had them in a 55 gallon aquarium. It was a better situation than they were in. But they are posted in the classifieds.

fair enough im not judging however though it may be a better situation u must agree that it is far from ideal. really ideal for them would be back in the AMAZON however im sure that is not a viable option

thnx everyone but i was wondering i have a 400 gal with 1 tiger oscar 14inch and 4 albino oscars 7-9 inch 4 small misc. cichlids i 16inch pacu
i am willing to get rid of two albino oscars to get a 6 inch silver arowana (am willing if neccessary to put into a temporary grow out tank)
a 3 inch dinosaur eel and a 4 inch FW moray eel (also willing to put into a growout tank)
have another 400 gal will set up if neccasery
any suggestions ????

if you think the other 400 gal is neccasery ( would rather get rid of two oscars) but if the other 400 gal is needed how should i or could i separate the fish listed ???
quite confused
