really?! what colors do they turn?

god..how many tanks do you have?(or are they all packed in one big tank.lol) private collection right
how much do the water/electricity bills cost(EXCLUSIVELY on aquariums)
 
They don't 'turn' colors, per se. They have crystalline iridophore pigment cells that pick up, reflect predominantly silver, and refract light. The refraction of light yields rainbow prismatic reflections.

And, I have around 120 tanks. Only about 55 running right now between 55gal and 650 gallons.

i'm guessing it costs around $1,000 a month to run those 55 only..am I close, or not even?
 
Not even. I insulated the hell out of the hatchery. And most of the tanks are on centralized blowers/filters. The hatchery runs efficiently on about $100 a month for gas, electricity, and water.

I did see alot of big guys on your thread though...but a bill per month! that's a deal!

do you sell your fish somewhere?
 
off topic: I used to sell off fry. My regular job only has me home 4 days a month. So, for the most part, fry become feeders. I just don't have time to sort, purge, pack, and ship anymore.

Hey I just went through planetcatfish and they said the water temp should be.
71.6-78.8°F
but. can they survive in 80F?

also, would they go for any pellets? what are the diet of yours?
