I obtained off a fishkeeper changing stock around this juvenile albino gar.

Cute little thing, only about 8" now and I have had it for about 7 weeks.

Now smashing all food that goes in including my fingers!!

Anyone had one of these from this sort of size and can say if theres had yellow spots and how they developedSMALL ALBINO GAR 1.jpegSMALL ALBINO GAR 2.jpeg

From what I've seen, some develop a full yellow back, some keep the minimal yellow spotting, and some lose it completely and fade into a white/pinkish back. The recent batch, most tend to lose that yellow as they turn into adults or some do keep some yellow spots but faint color.

Interesting to see I suppose to see how it turns out
