Juvenile Cichla ID thread

Anyone? Bought 2 of these last year as Kelberi, this one has a red head and body. The picture doesn't do justice to the red color on the little fellow. Compared to all the other Cichla i've had this one is absolutely red. It's showing more red than the geopgahus red head in the same tank.
Anybody got an idea why?

A little additional info: It's not growing really fast cause it's refusing anything other than pellets (and an occasional live guppy). And the stubborn idiot prefers the green herbivore hikari pellets above the red ones for carnivores.

Does anyone know how to get the Yami Randall May stand any lower than 32 32 is from bottom to top of the little metal rods that go into the j-bar receiver WITHOUT cutting it down?
