The bottom little ones I think are the barracudas vs. dorados. We caught some little S. brasiliensis as well but might not have pics.

Here's another S. brasiliensis and a couple more from another pull of the seine.
The type locality for Australoheros facetus (the chanchito) as described by Darwin's crew (the fish I was after)![]()
Can't tell whether these two little ones were also S. brasiliensis or red-tailed barracuda (crappy picture)...

Mine was a terror at 4". In a 180 to grow with miscellaneous other predators and absolutely ruled the tank of fish ,even though they were larger and in the tank months before the dorado. Mine came from Southland Aquatics. Just a brassy I suppose. Kept it for 6-8 months and sold it and shipped it, to a guy in the Seattle/Tacoma area for a restaurant's display tank I believe. It literally just swam circles in my tanks and if ANYTHING stuck its head out, the dorado would swoop down like a hawk and try to hit it. Had everything in that tank, from Crystal Eye Catfish to an ATF, and it made no difference to the dorado whatsoever. In my opinion, it's one of the most aggressive fish you can keep. Red Snakeheads that are tame are one of the only other fish that are even on the same level when it comes to speed and just blatant disregard for their own safety when they attack whatever is offered to them for food in an aquarium type setting. Just my own observation and opinion. Thanks.
