Jungle laboratories clear water. It's like a water conditioner. It gets rid of that sand odor if there is any and it makes those cloudy loose particles sink. It also does a fairly good job at packing down the sand to keep from stirring cloudy water. I put a horse face loach and some clowns in the tank to clean up the sand they do a good job.
i would say there is no need to be adding stuff like that to your tank. just clean the impeller housing out with regular water. how is sand getting in there in the first place? what type of filters are you running?
