juvenile green terrors will not eat after being treated for ich.

I raise to 85 degrees..fish handle it fine.. It causes the life cycle of the ich to decrease causes white spots to fall off faster..that when medicine can kill it..even if no white spots does not mean they healed..they could still have spots inside there gills..i always treat for 2 weeks to make sure it good..good news if fish survive u treatment..they build strong immune to it and it harder for that fish to get it again..i had ich years ago as a beginner and had a bala shark he got ich treated with kordon..in next 4 months ich hit the tank again cause my lack of quarantine new fish..he never got white shots the next 2 outbreak s..good luck
I changed out the heater with one that is not preset so that I can raise the tank temp. I will keep treating until I am certain they are healed even if it means treating for another two to three weeks. Since I have a pleco in there I'm going to try the Kordon treatment with increased heat to try to rid my tank of it. Thank you for everything you have suggested. I am willing to try anything so that my Terror twins survive.

My common pleco and clown pleco had no issues dealing with 3 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons for 2 weeks at a temperature of 87F. I just made sure to add the total amount of salt over the course of 48 hours. My green terror had no issue with that temperature and salt treatment as well.

Any medication with increased heat (like 85F+) can reduce the amount of oxygen available to the fish, so you need added surface agitation to allow for more oxygen exchange into the tank water.

You need to vacuum the substrate every day or 2 to remove any ich that fall into the substrate while doing the heat treatment. You will also need to redose the salt or medication for the amount of water changed.

Thank you both for all of your responses Rocksor and Acidt97!! We have done a lot or reading on ways to treat ich and the threat of secondary infection scares the crap out of us. I am not really new to fishkeeping but these are the first set of Terrors I have ever had and not sure how sensitive they are to meds and such. Heck it may just be my inner fish mom worrying about her babies. I will keep you posted on how they are doing. I will post pictures once I figure out this computer of mine too.

Well, the ich is gone and I lost only 1 of my GT's. The remaining little one is eating well and well on his way to recovering. Thanks again guys for your responses!!

I'm glad things are looking up for you, and happy to hear that your surviving GT is recovering. Just wanted to suggest a med alternative for future reference. I've had great success treating the rare Ick / Oodinium outbreaks I've had using Coppersafe. No need to raise the temp. Or add salt. Won't stain the silicone. SeaChem has a similar med, Cuprimine. (Spelling?). Another product recommended Is Rid Ick.
