So I think I might have gotten bamboozled on one of these as far as what they were sold to me as. What do these look like to you guys?

Bottom fish looks like a royal clown knife.
Top is a polypterus of course, I am no a poly ID expert so will leave it to them.

I’m not an expert, but the head looks upper jaw to me, I’m thinking juvie sen since sens sometimes have stripes at first

Honestly you’d know better than me. Basically all I know on polys is that bichirs exist and how to tell a few apart lol.
I was only going off of the stripes, but yeah, I forgot that juvie sens have stripes. And you’re right about the head.
Okay. So I didn't say what they were sold as simply to not effect anyone's opinion on the ID. The first one is clearly a CK. I wasn't aware there were different variations. I wanted one with the 3-4 circles. I just googled the royals. So it seems I won't be getting my circles... But I mean the royals look neat too. Damn...
The second one is clearly a bichir. It was sold to me as an ornate bichir. When I first asked about the availability he said no. Then randomly when I was leaving he said he had one. And I questioned if he was sure it was ornate and he sorta made a big deal bout how he's an honest person and if anyone calls him a liar he will tell them to get out of his store and yada yada. Like sorta aggressive but not directly torwards me. Like I was simply askin' if he was sure cause it seemed a little odd he randomly had the exact bichir I was looking for after telling me he hadn't and when I asked if he had ornate type he sorta seemed like he hadn't heard of it before and then randomly had an ornate. I described a BICHIR and he was like OH YA here, then when I asked if he was sure it was ornate he was like yep absolutely.... So I bought it on good faith I'm just sorta a little sceptical so I wanted to see if anyone could weigh in on the subject based on the looks of the juvenile. Plus everywhere I see ornates sold theyre sorta pricey and this wasn't. (compared to the prices I see at online shops) I was guessing it was probably just the common type of bichir and not ornate based on my experience.

Sorry , definitely not an ornate, but sens are very cool polys, so if you didn’t pay much, you still have a great fish. Guy sounds like a d**k that doesn’t deserve your business
Just researched senegal a bit. That's clearly the common low cost bichir. I think my hunch might be accurate that I got bamboozled....
