Juvenile ID On 2 Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks like a young CB senegalus to me. The line is new info but the shape, colour, and form suggests senegal.

Wild caughts vary by locality. Nigerian sens tend to have a more olive colour and are more slender. Turkana sens are often stocky with the big, triangular head. Captive breds are usually more stout and don't grow as long.

Thanks for the info Hendre. I think we can all safely agree the guy lied to me and I blew some cash on a common sen bichir. Pretty sure I'll just get rid of 'em first chance I get. Really have no want for a common lil, at full size, 6" community fish that you can find in any LFS. Maybe another LFS trade in credit or something. Then vet a more trusted honest seller to get an Ornate from.

If you want an ornate, the MFK marketplace might be good and I know some good online stores with reasonable shipping if you’re interested

Here’s a seller I’ve bought from many times
